About this site…

Welcome. I am Houston “Bump” Bailey. I started this site in order to share my writing. My first book, “Looking at Forty: A Most Meaningful Year”, was released in 2020. I will share chapters of the book on the “Blog” page. I will also share other interesting stories and thoughts on a somewhat regular basis.

I will turn some of these thoughts into short podcast episodes, which you can find on the “Podcasts” page and anywhere you get your podcasts.

About my book…

“Looking at Forty” is my first book. My first real attempt at writing, really. With turning 40 on the horizon, I started writing this book on my 39th birthday and finished it on my 40th. It is about that year of my life, a most meaningful year. It started more as a journal for myself, about the lessons I was learning everyday when I ran events through the lens of approaching 40.

I realized how much meaning I was suddenly finding in the daily, mundane tasks that we all do. They started adding up quickly, and I decided to turn that journal into a book. I think there are some great life lessons that I have to share.
